Here are some of the criteria the pupil should follow when writing a letter

Grammar	the written work isn't grammatically correct	the written work has some grammatical errors		the written work is grammatically  correct
The tone of letter	the tone of letter isn't appropriate	the tone of letter is partly appropriate		the tone of letter is appropriate
